  • The Laramie Project – a Continental UU Youth Social Action Event

    This February 2011 we invite your youth group to host a benefit screening of the Laramie Project movie in February 2011, in partnership with and to benefit local charities dedicated to reducing hate and intolerance.

  • CanUUdle XI is coming May 20 - 23 at the 2011 ACM in Toronto!

    The staff team for CanUUdle XI is being put together right now but that’s not the only way to be involved. We will still need Touch Group Leaders and Workshop Leaders – if you are interested in contributing to the CanUUdle community in one of these ways please contact CanUUdle Co-Deans Elyssa Canning and Samantha Erlich by emailing canuudle@cuc.ca   Check back here in the new year for more info and registration materials!

Acronyms

  • CUC: The Canadian Unitarian Council 
  • YOB: Youth Observer to the Board: This is a peer-elected representative who sits on the CUC Board of Trustees
  • CAYAC: Canadian Advisory Youth Adult Committee
  • Nat SAC: The National Social Action Coordinator, a CAYAC position that also liaises with the Social Responsibility Monitoring Groups
  • Canuudle: The National Youth Conference at ACM
  • BC YAC: The BC Region Youth Adult Committee
  • RRYSC Western Region Youth Adult Committee: stands for the Radical Religious Youth Steering Committee. This is the Western Region Youth Adult Committee
  • QuOM: Central/Eastern Regions combined Youth Adult Committee: stands for Quebec, Ontario and Maritimes. This is the Central and Eastern Regions combined Youth Adult Committee
  • OWL: Our Whole Lives, a lifespan sexuality education program taken by many youth in Canada
  • ACM: The national Annual Conference and Meeting of the CUC. This is the yearly business meeting where delegates from all the congregations in Canada come together to vote and give direction to the Board and staff on matters of policy, social justice initiatives and other aspects of congregational life.
  • CUSJ: Canadian Unitarians for Social Justice
  • C*UUYAN: the Continental Unitarian Universalist Young Adult Network
  • UUA: The Unitarian Universalist Association. This is the American body that represents UU congregations in the United States
