Mutigenerational Day – Sunday, May 18th

Multigenerational Day welcomes all ages for great food, fun, learning and worship.  Youth participating in CanUUdle at First Unitarian Congregation of Ottawa will join us for these events.

Join us for Lunch

The festivities begin with lunch at 12:15 pm - 1:45 pm at the cafeteria of Algonquin College.  Locally grown, organic food and fair trade beverages will be served.

The cost of the lunch is included for Young Fun, Junior Youth and CanUUdle participants.  For all other participants, this is a ticketed event, so remember to purchase your tickets when you register ($20 for adults and $10 for children 11 years of age and under).

As part of the Multigenerational lunch, the Empty Bowls Ceremony will highlight the importance of helping those less fortunate.

We will learn about the charities that will share the funds that Congregations have collected and the total amount donated.  Congregations and Fellowships that have brought bowls and donations to the Conference will participate in a drawer to choose a new Bowl to take home with them.

Special Performance at the 2008 ACM: JUST FOOD

The Kingston Unitarian Fellowship will present “JUST FOOD” following lunch. This play will feature giant puppets, story banners and original music, and will explore some of the perils of our global food system and the benefits of eating locally.  Written and directed by Gordon Darrall and Reverend Wendy Luella Perkins, this multigenerational show of performers will be enjoyed by all.

This workshop will feature you, in dialogue, in small tables exchanging ideas and learning more about real issues, climate change, diversity, drug addiction, etc . Witness and be part of a simple methodology for having conversations about questions that matter. The conversations link and build on each other as people move between table groups, cross-pollinate ideas, and discover new insights into the questions or issues that are most important in their life, work, congregation or community. The World Café promises to evoke and make visible the collective intelligence of the group, thus increasing your capacity for effective action in pursuit of common aims. Your opportunity to speak out, be heard and be listened to.

E4. What’s JOY got to do with it?
As aging activists, as spunky spiritual warriors, and as youth committed to making this a better world, UUs need to ask ourselves a burning question: What’s JOY got to do with it? Without joy, the work can drag us down. This workshop explores the places where we get joy. As a group, we’ll discover ways to keep the JOY within alive and bright.
Debra Isabel Huron
