Some Background History

the 2002 Annual General Meeting of the Canadian
Unitarian Council (CUC), an interim Statement
of Principles was adopted. This decision was
made in conjunction with the appointment of the CUC as
the primary service provider to Canadian congregations
through the assumption of services formerly provided
by the US-based Unitarian Universalist Association
(UUA). In the
winter of 2002, the CUC Board appointed a Statement
of Principles Task Force to lead the member
congregations of the CUC through a formal process to
